Céad Míle Fáilte
Welcome to our school website. We hope you will get a flavour of the wonderful activities the children take part in and get a sense of the unique home from home atmosphere that is created in Lyreacrompane N.S. to ensure all children grow and develop academically, socially, emotionally and creatively.
Lyreacrompane N.S. is a rural co-educational primary school situated in the Stack Mountains of North Kerry in the parish of Duagh. It is centrally located
between the towns of Castleisland, Listowel, Abbeyfeale and Tralee. There are two mainstream class teachers, a special education teacher and a special needs
assistant.
We are lucky to have a vibrant dedicated school community where together we strive to deliver an excellence in education and to promote cultural, moral, religious, social and spiritual values and traditions. We have close ties with our community. Lunches and dinners are prepared locally in the community centre. The children enjoy river walks and playing in the local playground.
At Lyreacrompane N.S. we have the staffing and resources to give children the individual attention and time required to fulfil their potential. We try to expose the children to a wide range of activities so that each child can find something that interests them. Some of the activities the children have taken part in include chess, music, French, gardening, mindfulness, debating, junior entrepreneur
programme, robotics and programming, scratch, swimming and many more.
The school provides access to an online individualised reading and maths programme for each child and also monthly Primary Planet Magazines.
Our school grounds boasts of an outdoor classroom, Astro turf pitch, soft play area, climbing wall and playing field. We are also developing a sensory room
and a preschool on the grounds of the school.
We appreciate your interest in our school, and invite you to contact us if you would like to learn more about our wonderful school.
